on the game of Sudoku...
Sudoku Objective
Conventional Sudoku presents a 9 x 9 grid arranged as 9, 3 x 3 boxes. The numbers 1 through 9 must be entered so that each number is included only one time in any row, column or box. Seed clues are always provided to get you started but the clues also assure only one correct solution is possible.
There is no math involved, all Sudoku Designer puzzles can be solved using only logic.
Sudoku Strategy
The following techniques can be interchangeably used to identify most entries. Analyzing pairs may be necessary for harder puzzles.
1. Rotating mentally through the 9 possible digits, scan the puzzle for boxes that do not yet have a certain digit entered. Then project other occurrences of that digit from adjacent areas along rows and columns into this target box until you find a box with only one possible open cell for that digit.
2. Locate blank cells that are central to the more populated lines and boxes. By process of elimination, determine if only one candidate digit can populate that cell.
3. If two cells in a common line or box share the same candidate pair, then those two candidates can not appear in any other cell in the same line or box. If both cells are on the same row/column then the pair can be used in technique 2 above. The same can be said for three cells that share the same three digits.
